The New Albany Founders Day Community Connection Awardwas established in 2008
to recognize and showcase the outstanding work and services performed by an area non-
profit civic group that serves our community and surrounding area.

Founders Day annual celebration was established to recognize the founding of New Albany
and Plain Township. It is our intent to bring attention to our community’s history, growth and
accomplishments. Plain Township celebrates it's Bi-Centennial this year.  It is therefore
fitting that we give the Community Connection Award to Plain Township.
The New Albany Chamber of Commerce Names
Outstanding Citizens of the Year for 2009
Linda Honaker & Beckie Knore
The New Albany Chamber of Commerce recognized Founders Day co-chair, Linda Honaker, as an outstanding
leader who consistently and repeatedly demonstrates a commitment to improving the quality of the lives of our
citizens. Through her generous devotion of time, and her ability to work with a wide spectrum of people, she presents
the Annual Founders Day Celebration. Her extensive community involvement also includes leadership roles and
support of NA Athletics Programs, NA Alumni, TWIG, and Ohio Association of Public School Employees Union
President. We applaud the work of this extraordinary volunteer.

The New Albany Chamber of Commerce also recognized Founders Day co-chair,
Beckie Knore, for her outstanding
leadership and extraordinary generosity in the Annual Founders Day Celebration. Her love for this community, pride
of the schools and exemplary commitment to organizations such as the local TWIG reflect her great character. She
faithfully seeks supporters so the event can be affordable to families and former residents returning home for some
old fashioned fun. We applaud the work of this extraordinary volunteer.
